The Point Pot

A Modern Planter for Modern Times

Los Angeles, California - January 25, 2017

Outdoor lifestyle brand Potted is proud to be the exclusive retailer and partner for landscape and ceramic designer Dustin Gimbel's first offering - The Point Pot. Sleek and geometric, this elegant planter offers versatility as well as good looks with the ability to be used table top or hung from a stainless steel cable (sold separately).

"Dustin walked into our shop 11 years ago with a laptop full of his amazing gardens and an enthusiasm for his craft that was infectious," says Annette from Potted. "Then when he started experimenting with ceramics, we knew he was on to something. So over a very good Italian dinner we all played with the prototype he had brought Mary and I of The Point Pot. As we talked (and drank) our enthusiasm over all the ways it could be displayed got so boisterous it carried over to the table nextdoor. But instead of being annoyed, our neighbors were soon also convinced that this was the coolest planter they'd ever seen."

Made in the USA of high-fired clay, The Point Pot is available in three glazes (Vanilla Bean, Pacific Blue & Sea Spray Green) and measures 17.5" long by 5.5" tall and wide.

Dustin Gimbel has been a plant geek since he started working in his grandparents' garden as a child.  Receiving degrees in horticulture from Cal Poly, Pomona, and the Royal Historical Society in England, Dustin continued his education at such renowned gardens as Dan Hinkley's Heronswood Nursery in Washington State and the Great Dixter House and Garden in Sussex, England. In 2006 he returned to the US to begin his own company, Second Nature Garden Design. As his career has evolved, so has his interest in creating the beautiful pottery to house his beloved plant specimens. While many of his creations are one-of-a-kind, The Point Pot is Dustin's first foray into commercial design and manufacturing.

Potted was opened in 2004 by Mary Gray and Annette Goliti Gutierrez as a mecca for design-loving garden enthusiasts who wanted to shop for the outdoor area of their homes with the same choices and style they have for their interiors. As the brand has evolved they've set themselves apart by designing and creating their own products including their iconic Circle Pot. This new collaboration with Dustin Gimbel continues their quest to blend original pieces and unique artisans to develop their own diverse style – from bohemian to cottage and vintage to modern.
